James Lovick is an award-winning independent commercials & content director with a passion for telling authentic and cinematic stories. With a focus on real people and real food his crafted documentary approach humanises brands, beautifully capturing intimate and genuine moments to connect brands to their audiences. 

James has worked with a wide range of brands, including films for Volvo, McLaren, Bentley, Indeed, Microsoft, Facebook, Brittany Ferries, Kenwood, Baileys, Dorset Cereals, WWF and Charles Schwab.

In 2017 he was shortlisted for a Shots Young Director Award in Cannes, for his film 'Why This Road?' for Charles Schwab and won an Evcom Silver Screen award for Cinematography on his series of films for Dorset Cereals. His film 'Open Water' with Volvo, highlighting water pollution around the world, picked up an Environmental Clarion Award in 2020. Most recently, his work with Brittany Ferries 'OUI' won Best Integrated Campaign at the 2022 Travel Awards.
